TRS App is now in Arabic

Trauma Recovery Services Application (TRS App); this amazing App which has been designed by a fascinating group from Case Western Reverse University, Cleveland, Ohio, is now available in Arabic. KORgroup collaborated with the App developers to translate this App intro Arabic and make it available for trauma patients in Kuwait and for all the Arabic speaking patients.

TRS App has been designed to aid trauma survivors in their path to recovery. It provides background information on injuries, surgeries and recoveries.

NOW the TRS App has the option “العربيه” in its main menu so the patient can chose between the English and Arabic languages to get access to the information.

KORgroup applied three stages of translation to ensure the best Arabic translation, and after one year of efforts and international communication we are happy to say it is ready for use.

Its available for Android and iOS, and its free.

If you are in the orthopedic and trauma field, download the App, have a close look and ask your patients to download it. We are sure this App will help your post traumatic patients in their recovery journey.

Proving is better than speaking, have a look at the video which has been made by KORgroup to see how great this App is!!

Research for a not full-time researcher

Well, not all the researchers and scientists in the world have the luxury of being a full-time researcher. Specially in Kuwait, the title researcher is so rare and limited to couple of organizartions. At the same time, clinicians, who spent many years of their life to use their knowledge in clinical life, they want to practice their skills beside solving critical issues at their practice with research. So even if they offered being a full-time researchers most clinicians will refuse.

Secret of success and this is between you and me :), don’t spread the word. Clinicians who do research at the same time and struggle to have the time for their research hold the most important research questions. The credit is to their day to day clinical life. Seeing the patients everyday and facing the challenges are the sole of vital research questions.

Good, we know now that losing the luxury of time being not a full-time researcher has an excellent advantage, but the question is how you can do it with limited time, The answer is: It can be done, many world class researchers are clinicians at the same time and have little time for research, and we all have the same 24 hours. With dedication, good management skills between the research team, and most importantly “clinical time management” you can complete all the aspects of your research. We have a responsibility toward our patients, but as you book an appointment for you patient from 9-10 am on Tuesday, you can book your data collection hours too. Manage your time wisely. Say you are planning to complete data collection of certain research in three months and your sample size is 50 patients. With simple maths, you have three months so it is around 12 weeks, so you have to examine around 4 patients per week, With busy clinical schedule, you can examine 2 patients per day, for two days per week. So just book for example, every Sunday and Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm and examine these four patients. and that’s it. There are various tricks to share later for long-term follow up studies, and other studies with unique designs.

A full-time researchers might need more than three months to complete your study, despite having the luxury of time, because they will need much time to identify the patients. However, a not full-time researchers have no difficulty with identifying patients because all their days are with patients because they are clinicians and researchers at the same time. So there are many advantages being a “not-full time researcher”.

However, research is not only data collection, you need statistical analysis and writing for publication, identifying the journals, response to reviewers etc, You can also book couple of hours at work but yes this is not enough. So here come the passion and dedication, you need to finish it at home, weekend and late nights! If you are not welling for this, think twice before being a not-full time researcher, but believe me the taste of success when you see your study published in one of the top journals in your field and solve a critical issue in your practice worth all the efforts.
